About us
The Belangenvereniging Horeca Leidsebuurt (BHL, Interest Group for HORECA (Hotel/Restaurant/Cafe) Establishments in the Leidsebuurt) was established on 14 October 1982. The association’s goal is to represent the interests of hospitality and catering establishments in the Leidseplein entertainment and nightlife district.
BHL’s board consists of business-owners from all sectors of the hospitality and catering industry.
BHL’s members originate from all sectors of the hospitality and catering industry.
Founded as a true interest group, over the years BHL has grown into a trusted partner for the city’s Centrum district as well as the municipality of Amsterdam.
Municipal authorities are increasingly realising how much of an important economic factor hospitality and catering form in the entertainment districts, resulting in a variety of local partnerships and consultations.
Since 2011, the Leidsebuurt has featured a KVU (Keurmerk Veilig Uitgaan,
“Safe Night Out” certification), a BHL initiative. The program will see the introduction of the CHO (Collectieve Horeca Ontzegging) at the beginning of 2016, allowing businesses to collectively ban troublesome patrons from the businesses in the area, an important part of BHL’s objective to ensure a safe entertainment and nightlife district.
BHL is committed to a fun and safe entertainment district!
